“Having children is like living in a frat house – nobody sleeps, everything’s broken, and there’s a lot of throwing up.”
This quote has been coming to mind lately, as I feel like there’s always a mess to clean up, things are getting knocked over and broken more and more. Play brooms become hockey sticks or “choppers;” our entertainment center has been converted to toy storage; and our house has that well-lived in look and feel!! Welcome to parenthood!
It’s funny reflecting on this quote, as life HAS changed so much since we were first married seven years ago this month. Life has sprung into warp speed since welcoming our first – our daughter – over three years ago and son twenty-two months thereafter. We have been so blessed with our family, yet we recognize the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears that go into building and enjoying that family. I’m glad I have an awesome husband for continual love and support through whatever kids and life bring our way.
Love you Daddy O!
Happy Anniversary to you! I love that quote from Ray! It’s one of my favorites and boy is it ever true!
Wow! Yes, a lot has happened. Congratulations, and great quote! A sense of humor is critical to keeping it all together…
Thanks! You are so right about having a sense of humor to keep things in perspective and just enjoy. Glad you liked the quote, and thanks for reading!
Happy Anniversary! Yes…everything changes, but it’s the best thing ever…even when it’s messy!
Our lives would be pretty boring without our kiddos. They are the best! Thanks for checking out my blog.
What a great perspective. And I love the pics of you and your husband. Time passes so quickly.
Awh – thanks!
