I was recently challenged by Mommy Lanes Adventures to participate in a 3 Day Quote Challenge. She writes a sweet blog about parenting and family life. Check it out!

For day 1, I am starting with a quote I found on White Camellias, and it really struck a chord with me on parenting young children.

Living Arrows parenting quote
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. – Kahlil Gibran

Wow…right?! Just contemplate this for awhile. Isn’t this a beautiful analogy to parenting? While it takes years together as parent and child to learn and grow, can’t you picture your child as a high school / college graduate “launching” into the big, wide world?

Here are my 3 nominees for this 3-day challenge. Just post a favorite quote for 3 consecutive days and nominate three others to do the same!

  1. For sharing this beautiful Kahlil Gibran quote with me, I nominate White Camellias.
  2. When the Kids Go to Bed
  3. The Monster in Your Closet
