MANY things are surprising to parents – especially the first time around, so when I had my son, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was PLEASANTLY surprised to see how my daughter reacted to her brother’s arrival. She was an INSTANTLY proud big sister! Here’s one of the very first pictures of them together at home:

It was adorable to see how much she loved him right from the beginning. She would tell people, “That’s my brother.” She would sing to him, “Baby, don’t cry.” She’d ask, “Mom, can I hold the baby?” This was also a line from the I’m a Big Sister book
As little brother became more mobile, the wrestling started….but overall, they are so sweet together! He certainly makes waking up big sister a bit more pleasant (she’s typically crabby).

Today big sister pushed little brother in his stroller. She did really well and was a big help to me. In the past I can remember pushing a stroller while carrying another child and keeping the diaper bag strapped to my shoulder – not an easy task! It’s during these little moments that I am so proud of my kiddos, as they become more self-sufficient and treat each other with so much kindness and love.
What a blessing to see your kids doing that so early! Great story!
Awh, thanks! Yes, I was surprised a bit too by my 3 year old pushing her 15 month old brother in his stroller. I know they will not always enjoy each other’s company like they do now, so I am enjoying it while I can!
Thanks for checking out my blog! Yes, I am blessed with my kiddos sweet friendship.
Sweet little darlings! My grandkids love each other too,but I must admit they can make the WWW look like a walk in the park some days.Cute blog
